Packing for Festival
Festival and Camping Gear
Below is a suggested list of things that we bring and find useful to give us the best festival experience possible. It is just a suggested list but we hope it helps you. We start planning in advance, use inexpensive plastic containers to keep things in, and start getting ready and packing a week or two before going to the festival.
Main Equipment – Living Space
- Tent, poles, stakes, rain fly (If it is new tent, please set it up once before the festival. If it is a tent you already have, open it and inspect it for any wear or damage that may have happened in storage.)
- Hammer
- Screen enclosure or tarp, poles, stakes
- Tarp for under tent to protect the bottom
- Tables, one for kitchen and food preparation and one to eat at.
- Chairs plus extra
- Spare stakes
- Carpeting for the tent floor and ground cover for those who can’t live without the comforts of home!
Kitchen
- Plan your menu, precook and freeze everything you can. It keeps your food fresh, your cooler colder longer and saves on ice. Make a list of these foods so you don’t leave anything behind.
- Food
- Snacks
- Cooler and ice (we freeze ice starting a week or two in advance using a 9×9 cake pan and water in a 1 gallon Ziploc bag. Once frozen we pop it out and start another one. Blocks last longer and the 9×9 seems to be perfect for our cooler. We also save cubes. Ice from your home freezer is colder than the ice you buy.)
