Wow, so many great messages...thanks to each person for sharing your warmth,
your caring, and your pudding and other food stuffs (Now if someone would
figure out how to spread Lasagna, and salad, we could have a whole buffet,
delivered for free!)

I just want to ditto what Mino said to Paul. I must also confess to the
group that I, like Denise and Paul, had some hesitations after my first
gathering with Phoenix Phyre...smoking was one of the primary concerns, along
with just a general "new witch on the block" hesitancy.

After lots of meditation, and thought given to the issues, I discovered the
idea that family, if a really healthy family, gives the gift of acceptance to
one another. Oh, yes, we also bicker about different issues. But we also
respect each other's needs, and desires, and short comings. I had taught a
workshop on infant massage the first gathering, but didn't realize that we
didn't have a lot of little kids...so next workshop, I jumped in deeper with
Healing Workshop. (What better way to get to know folks than to lure them
into a workshop, and get them to teach me stuff...LOL!)

On the consideration note, I was standing with a group of friends before main
ritual, and one of them pulled out a pack of cigarettes. I simply touched
his hand, and he knew that I would rather he didn't smoke. I want to thank
John for his sensitivity to this issue. That is what friendship, family and
love are about...caring.

Paul, there is the old "Go if you must, stay if you will..."
But I prefer, "Merry Meet, Merry Part, and Merry Meet Again!"

On another note...when is the affair at Dragon Hills, and just where is this
located? May? If so, and schedule permits, is anyone interested in
caravaning from the St. Pete area? I have a small van, too, so maybe
carpooling? Off to Witches' Voice to check out the info...it is there, isn't
it?

Blessings,
Hugs, and Light,
Tyla
PS See you on Sunday, Mino, and South Florida folks... hee hee...gonna be at
Merry Meet! Maybe I will bring the lasagna to that...instead of having it
lobbed at us from someone's catapult!

Very quietly, Lylithh steals into Earthdrummers camp while he
sleeps. She takes care to take padding steps, only on each snore(If
she didn't know any better, she'd think Earthdrummer was building a
fort with all the "sawing logs" LOL.) Gingerly, she picks up each
Strawberry Jam Granade, and puts them in her pack. Looking around,
she finds Mollasses Clips, A Banana Bow, and (Ah-Ha!) a Sling with a
small bag of chocolate-covered raisens.(Ouch! Those could hurt! LOL)
Lylithh leaves Earthdrummers hideout, again, stepping to each snore.
Whe he wakes, she is far away, up in her tree...she giggles as
his "bear-roar" shakes the garden.........Hmmm, she thinks...might be
best to find myself another hideout....LOL...off she went, deeper
into the Garden..........

Oh, and one more thing...here is a little funny that you of Celtic/Irish
persuasion might enjoy!

That's the Irish:

Saddam Hussein was sitting in his office wondering whom to invade next when
his telephone rang.

"Hallo! Mr. Hussein," a heavily accented voice said.  "This is Paddy down at
the Harp and Thistle pub in County Sligo, Ireland.  I am ringing to inform
you that we are officially declaring war on you!"

"Well, Paddy," Saddam replied,  "This is indeed important news!  How big is
your army?"

"Right now," said Paddy, after a moment's calculation, "there is myself, my
cousin Sean, my next door neighbour Seamus, and the entire dart team from
the pub.  That makes eight!"

Saddam paused. "I must tell you, Paddy, that I have one million men in my
army waiting to move on my command."

"Begorra!", said Paddy. "I'll have to ring you back!"

Sure enough, the next day, Paddy called again.  "Mr. Hussein, the war is
still on!  We have managed to acquire some equipment!"

"And what equipment would that be, Paddy?" Saddam asked.

"Well, we have two combines, a bulldozer, and Murphy's farm tractor."

Saddam sighed.  "I must tell you, Paddy, that I have 16,000 tanks and 14,000
armoured personnel carriers.  I've increased my army  to 1 1/2 million since
we last spoke."

"Saints preserve us!" said Paddy. "I'll have to get back to you."

Sure enough, Paddy rang again the next day. "Mr. Hussein, the war is still
on!  We have managed to get ourselves airborne!  We've modified Harrigan's
ultra-light with a couple of shotguns in the cockpit, and four boys from the
Shamrock pub have joined us as well!"

Saddam was silent for a minute and then cleared his throat.  "I must tell
you, Paddy, that I have 10,000 bombers and 20,000 fighter planes.  My
military complex is surrounded by laser-guided, surface-to-air missile
sites, and since we last spoke, I've increased my army to TWO MILLION!"

"Jesus, Mary, and Joseph!", said Paddy, "I'll have to ring you back."

Sure enough, Paddy called again the next day.

"Top o' the mornin'', Mr. Hussein! I am sorry to tell you that we have had
to call off the war."

"I'm sorry to hear that," said Saddam. "Why the sudden change of heart?"

"Well," said Paddy, "we've all had a long chat over a bunch of pints, and
there's no way we can feed two million prisoners."

Blessings to phoenixfestivals@yahoogroups.com
(phoenixfestivals@yahoogroups.com)! on 4/4/01 3:03 AM you were quoted as
saying:

I do not speak for the entire community, but from being around this
group of people for a decade I believe that the idea is not to condemn
any path...but rather to preserve what has been built. This is NOT
saying that voodoo or any other pagan ways different from the majority
of the community threaten to change it. I have found everyone to be
very accepting in the past....but let's face it, we've got a good thing
going here and there is bound to be some apprehension about anything
that changes. I fully believe that all will fall into place....with
honor to all pagan paths. There is great wisdom within this community,
and with that comes caution....but we know that change is often a good
thing when the energies are properly directed and set into place.
Everyone just needs time to ground, and it is impossible to remain
grounded permanently......unless of course we are in the ground.

Very Eloquent, Mino, Bravo!!

Blessings,

Zephyr has decided the troops must have rest and food. So Zephyr loads
up her magic basket and delivers it to the center of the garden.
Please help yourself. The magic is that you may have as much of
whatever you want from the basket. This is a free zone so please no
attacks.
On another note, is anyone going to the drumming circle over near St.
Cloud this weekend? I think we are going to be there Saturday in the
late afternoon. Hope to see you there.
Peace and Harmony,
Zephyr

Hi all!

I just wanted to take a minute to say a huge THANKS to all in the
community for the generous donations to Childcare. The kids loved
the treats from crayons and coloring books to the playdough and
snacks. It seemed they had a new surprise each afternoon. On behalf
of the children of our growing community and Lena and myself...thank
you all.

It really does take a whole village to raise a child.

Love and Blessings,
Suzanne

P.S. We are really looking forward to Fires in June...we miss the
kids already!

Suzanne, and Lena,
On behalf of those of us who love kids, and don't know what to do
with them most of the time, I want to thank you for all of your hard
work, and your wonderful, blessed attitudes. I work with kids
(babies) in my day to day life. I love them, but I couldn't keep
them entertained, and teach them with the joy and love that each of
you show to the little ones.

You are two astounding women...and really GREAT mommies! Phoenix is
a lucky little boy, as are all of our children whose lives are
touched by the two of you!

Blessings,
Hugs,
Tyla

I hate the cold too, that's why I moved to FL from NYC :-) On the bright
side, it should start warming up soon.

Now close your eyes and take a deep breath while I send ya some nice warm
sunny thoughts. How about a nice glass of Sangria (slice of orange &
pineapple sitting on the rim with a little umbrella) while you sit at the
beach in a very comfy chair listening to the ocean & enjoying the warm sun &
blue skies?
;-)

it calls to everyone,

both sister and brother.

It’s the heartbeat of the Mother

that creep’s into your soul,

the rhythm of life,

keeps the community whole

sorry, this Buffalonian hates the cold. So if anyone in Florida or

The Drum

A piece of wood,

some rope and skin,

heart and hand,

bring out the life within.

Be you dancer or drummer,

or just passing by

the rhythm gets to you

and you just have to try.
