Auctions & Fundraisers
Fundraising
In April 2015, Phoenix Festivals, Inc. officially received 501(c)3 status as a religious education organization. Our Phamily is now able to receive tax free donations to better serve our community.
Did you know that 20% of all donation, auction and fundraising money is allocated to The Scholarship Fund? The remaining funds go toward keeping admission prices low while continuing to make site improvements and providing quality guest speakers and entertainment. Your contribution and feedback are greatly appreciated. Please use our online survey to communicate your opinion with event coordinators and board of directors.

Our Phamily Auction
Please bring a donation of new or barely used items to Poppa John who collects all donations.
Our auction is hosted by the hysterical and outlandish fun-guy, Eric Goodrich, and is a fun community event and a show of its own. Donations are often from our generous vendors and include magical items, dancing and festival play clothes, books, homemade food items, jewelry, musical instruments, crafts, ritual & divination items, homemade mead or other spirits. We take cash or credit/bank cards.
50/50 Raffle
Another great fundraising activity is the 50/50 raffle. A team member will be traveling the site, enticing, and charming you into joining the fun. All raffle tickets are put into one jar and the winning ticket pulled moments before the auction on Saturday. The winning ticket receives 50% of all money raised from these ticket sales. On average, the payout has been over $200
Community Yard Sale
In an effort to repurpose and recycle, a each festival there is a table set up at the community center with household items donated by the phamily. All items are priced for affordability: Pay what you feel is fair. This is an honor system with no questions asked. Donations of good quality items such as clothing, books, kitchen wares, jewelry, knick knacks, etc. may be put on the table. Please be considerate of space.
Phoenix Festivals Scholarships
Phoenix Festivals Inc. is proud to offer two scholarship funds. The Ellen Peterson Fund was established in 2011 by John Swingle in honor of his beloved friend Ellen Peterson as a means to help Elders attend festival. Scholarship may be applied for event registration fees and/or meal plan. The Phoenix Festivals Inc.’s General Scholarship Fund is completely funded by our Auction and is available to all Phamily members for registration fees only. Awards are paid directly to PFI on behalf of the individual recipient and may not be “cashed in” or otherwise sold, transferred, or switched to another person. If the recipient is unable to attend the designated PFI event, the award will return to the Scholarship Fund and the recipient will have to reapply for the next event.
Qualifications for The Ellen Peterson Scholarship Fund:
The Ellen Peterson Scholarship Fund is available to any Phamily member who is at least 65 years old and is experiencing a financial hardship that will prevent attending a Phoenix Festival event. In exchange for payment of registration fees and/or meal ticket, the recipient must complete TWO (2) hours of community service for the event that the scholarship was issued. While no financial affidavit or specific details are required, we ask that you provide a statement explaining your need. We expect any requests to be honorably made by those who truly are in need and would not otherwise be able to attend a Phoenix Festivals Inc. event without the award.

Who was Ellen Peterson?
It's hard to condense 87 years of achievements into a short synopsis. Ellen Peterson was a member of our community for many years. She was a warrior for women’s and religious rights and the environment. She was a fierce protective voice for all living creatures on earth. As a member of CUUPS, Fort Myers, for many years she espoused her love of Mother Earth through her pagan beliefs.
